Thesis Writing Process
Congratulations on making it to one of the final steps in the BPSYC program: writing your thesis.
These online modules are intended to help you write your thesis. The thesis is a very long project, and when you start these modules, you will most likely be away on placement. If there is anything that you don’t understand, be sure to get in touch with your college supervisor. Although you will be able to re-work the sections of your thesis based on your supervisor’s feedback, you will be receiving marks for your first draft as well as the second. That means that it’s important to make your first draft as strong as you can make it. Read More
Also, make sure that you understand the format that you are supposed to use before you begin submitting sections of your thesis to your supervisor. All of the details are in your thesis manual. Yes, it’s the same APA format that you have always used, but there are chapter titles, sub-headings, a table of contents, a different title page, and other features that you might not be used to. Your supervisor will expect you to submit each draft using the proper format. While you are working on your thesis, you can take a look at the model theses that students wrote in previous years. These are great examples of well-written theses, but it’s important to note that the format of the thesis has changed slightly over the years: this means that you cannot rely on them for formatting details.
The online modules you are about to watch are broken down into several sections. The first set of modules is about preparing to write your thesis, and then the remaining modules cover each chapter of the thesis. Be sure to watch all of the videos, and if there is something that you do not understand, contact your thesis supervisor for clarification.
